New Look, Same Award-Winning Advantages

The 2020 Passat has a bolder and more aggressive look than its predecessor, with its slim headlights, streamlined roofline and assertive grille. It’s sporty and fun, but still spacious and comfortable. Inside, the 2020 Passat’s dashboard has more modern air vents and optional Fender® audio. It’s a clean look and easy to use. Reviews claim the new Passat has a quiet and smooth ride, roomy interior and big trunk - so it’s the perfect family sedan or for longer road trips. V-Tex leatherette is available along with dual zone climate control and heated front seats. Plus, it includes Carefree Coverage: that’s two years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, three years of roadside assistance and four years of new vehicle limited warranty.

Technology & Driver Assistance Features

The 2020 Passat has more standard features and a lower starting MSRP than the previous model year. It comes with 17” allow wheels, LED headlights and taillights, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, VW App-Connect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a touchscreen infotainment system and Sirius XM® satellite radio. There is also Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping System available.

Power & Performance

While the exterior appearance and some cosmetic adjustments inside have changed, most of the original “guts” of the Passat remain intact. In 2018, the engine capacity moved from a 1.8 to 2.0 liters which is the current engine - a 16-valve inline-4. It still puts out a turbocharged 174 horsepower (@5200 rpm). For 2020, a new torque converter and updated software boosts output to 206 lb/ft of torque. It does well with fuel economy with an EPA estimated 34mpg/hwy.
