Why Jetta?
JETTA VS. CIVIC
So you're interested in the Honda Civic?
The new 2018 Jetta actually has a lower MSRP than a comparable Honda Civic. Which means it’ll have a lower sale price too. So, when you're deciding on trim levels and equipment, keep in mind, you may be able to get a comparably equipped Jetta for the same price - or even less - than the Civic you were eyeing.
Plus, Volkswagen has recently introduced the People First Warranty. It’s the best and longest warranty of its kind, offering six years or 72,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage. Not just a powertrain warranty. Not just a battery warranty. The new VW warranty is a bumper-to-bumper warranty (and, yes, it does include the powertrain too). It’s longer in years and mileage than any of its competitors.
When considering the engine, the Civic loses in performance, power and speed. The Civic comes with a 1.5L engine with 162lb ft-lb of torque. The Jetta has a 2.0L engine that gives an impressive 210 ft-lb of torque. And if you're not sure what these numbers mean, the bigger the number, the more powerful the engine and the better driving experience.
Both the Jetta and the Civic have excellent entertainment systems, but the base model Jetta has additional upgrades that will keep you smiling. You will be spending hundreds more to get a CD player and AUX ports on the Civic. Volks, then Wagen; People, then cars...that's the VW philosophy.
The 2018 Jetta has received a 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration—the highest rating possible.
