Learn More about the new VW Taos

Seems like everyone is loving SUVs these days, so Volkswagen thought it might be a good idea to add another one to its already award-winning lineup. In addition to the full-size, 7-passenger Atlas, the sportier 5-passenger Atlas Cross Sport and the mid-size 5- or 7-passenger Tiguan, Volkswagen is proud to introduce the all-new 2022 Taos. It’s an entry-level 5-passenger compact SUV that sits just below the mid-size Tiguan. Volkswagen touts it as “smart, versatile, and ready for the road” and it costs less than the comparable Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. Reviewers have complimented the Taos on its superior performance and handling, impressive technology features and ample cargo space. Additionally, the Taos comes with 2 years of complimentary maintenance and 4 year / 50,000 mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty.

Although the Taos is classified as a compact SUV, it’s one of the largest vehicles in its class. It has a significantly larger back seat compared to similar vehicles as well as a spacious and easily accessible cargo area. The turbocharged engine comes standard, with 158 horsepower. 4MOTION® all-wheel drive will soon be available (including snow mode, on-road mode, off-road mode and off-road custom mode). The new 2022 Taos FWD model earned an impressive EPA combined estimate of 31 mpg.

All Taos models come standard with a customizable, high resolution digital instrument cluster, the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. App-Connect also comes standard allowing for compatible smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 6.5” touchscreen is standard, although there is an optional 8” version as well. The Taos can also be equipped with an eight-speaker BeatsAudio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless smartphone charging and built-in navigation. Another standard feature is Volkswagen Car-Net®; it comes with a mobile app that features remote commands, alerts, parking info, a hotspot and networked security features. Five years of Car-Net access are included as part of VW’s Carefree Coverage.

Safety is among the highest priorities in the new 2022 Taos as well. Driver assistance features come standard, including blind spot monitoring, rear traffic alert, light assist, dynamic road sign display and park distance control. A wide lens rear view camera system helps drivers when backing up. The Taos is also equipped with an Intelligent Crash Response System that can automatically turn off the fuel pump, unlock the doors and activate the hazard lights in the event of a collision. The automatic post-collision braking system can help slow the vehicle down after a collision. There’s also a standard tire pressure monitoring system in case there’s a loss of tire pressure - perhaps a nail in your tire - or a flat. Finally, the Taos is equipped with multiple stability-enhancing systems to keep you safe and in control.

Volkswagen’s Carefree Coverage means that scheduled maintenance is included with the new 2022 Taos for 2 years (or 20,000 miles). It also covers 3 years (or 36,000 miles) of Roadside Assistance and 5 years of Car-Net Remote Access. The new vehicle bumper-to-bumper limited warranty is 4 years (or 50,000 miles).

Bold, German-engineered design, premium finishes, industry-leading fuel economy and advanced technology make the new 2022 Volkswagen Taos an extremely competitive option in the compact SUV space. With plenty of room for passengers and cargo, tons of high-end standard and optional features, unparalleled safety equipment and a competitive price tag, the Taos is a no-brainer.
